Il rumore delle mercanzie e dei miei compagni di viaggio che stavano continuando a lasciare l'imbarcazione si confusero presto con il rumore delle onde che si infrangevano sulla spiaggia. Quando sentii finalmente terra solida sotto i miei piedi e non più sabbia montai a cavallo e mi voltai. La nave su cui avevo viaggiato era stata portata quasi a riva e ora giaceva un poco inclinata, rendendo le operazioni di scarico più difficoltose. Dalle passerelle continuava la lenta discesa degli imballi del carico e dei soldati che si erano portati sull'isola in previsione degli scontri futuri. Si avvicinava forse una guerra e i mercenari si stavano avvicinando alla fonte di futuri guadagni. Lontano a nord vidi le nubi nere della tempesta che si stava avvicinando, il sole del mattino la inondava di rosso e oro. Una immagine preziosa per chi era in cerca di tesori.
